Danielle Adkins Dormitory
Miss Danielle Adkins died tragically on Easter Sunday of 2013. Her family and friends have given monies in her memory and they have decided to build a Girls Dormitory at the St. Terry and Kathy Orphanage. This orphanage was established by Isaiah and Ruth Michura and they have given their all to these children. They really need your help, the girls are sleeping now in the back of the Michura home. It is a 6 ft. by 8 ft. addition with over 20 girls sleeping 3 to a bed. Can you imagine 20 girls sleeping in a fifty square foot area? Isaiah and Ruth are doing the best that they can with the resources that they have. We have partnered with them to build a new girls dormitory, so these girls will have a nice place to live and sleep. The cost to build this building is $7,500.00. In America that is not a whole lot of money, but in Kenya that is a fortune. Most Kenyans survive on about one dollar a day. Kenya has a population of 45 million people and 3 million of them are orphans. The numbers are staggering when you consider 700 children in Kenya are orphaned each day, that is every two minutes there is a new orphan. I wish I could say the numbers are decreasing, but that would not be the truth. The rate of AIDS and HIV infected people is still rising in most African countries. My prayer is for the family, friends and supporters to give to help us build this new dormitory. We have so much and been blessed to be able to live in the United States with its freedom and prosperity. Please give today!
